Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS - For people in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and parts of the West Coast, Mid North and North West Pastoral districts. Issued at 8:56 am Wednesday, 9 October 2013. A cold front is expected to move across Eyre Peninsula this afternoon and the Adelaide area in the evening. Hot ahead of the front with strong to locally gale force north to northwest winds, and areas of raised dust, chiefly in western districts. North to northwest winds are likely to be damaging, averaging 50-65 km/h with gusts of 90-100 km/h in parts of the warning area today. The damaging winds are expected to impact the West Coast and Eyre Peninsula this morning and extend to remaining parts from late morning. Locations which may be affected include Ceduna, Port Lincoln, Cleve, Maitland, Mount Barker, Victor Harbor and Kingscote. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Move vehicles under cover or away from trees; * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
