Severe storm forecast for SEQLD today. Overview - An upper trough remains in place over SEQLD grading in strength South from Roma to Bundaberg, a weak surface trough is developing through a line from Stanthorpe, Toowoomba, Mundubbera to Emerald, a weak SE wind change is developing through the SE Coast to form a boundary of convergence along the inland ranges to a triple wind point over the Sunshine Coast by this afternoon. Westerly Wind shear is reasonable across SEQLD grading to moderate from the Sunshine Coast northward. Moisture depth is reasonable through the low levels drying out through the mid to upper levels. Maximum Surface Temperatures are highly dependant on cloud cover however a favoured result for development would be around 26c. Dew points remain in the high teens along the coast with a developing sea breeze and SE wind change, drying out west of the ranges under a light westerly flow. Forecast - Isolated to scattered showers and isolated possibly severe storms developing this afternoon South of the Sunshine Coast to Dalby to the NSW Border. Risks here include Strong winds to 90kmhr, hail to 2cm and frequent lightning (in strongest storms). Scattered showers and scattered storms developing with some storms likely severe North from the Sunshine Coast to Dalby South of Gladstone to Emerald. Risks here include Damaging Winds over 90km hr, Large Hail to 4cm, Heavy Rainfall and Frequent lightning (in strongest storms). BOM Warnings will be posted to HSC if issued.
