Severe storms possibly packing large long track tornados will be in our forecast Thursday and Friday. Primary focus on Thursday will be an east of a Brainerd, Minnesota to Des Moines, Iowa line all the way to the Highway 51/I-39 corridor. This will include our neighbors in northwest Illinois. Friday the focus will be east of a Cable, Wisconsin to Kirksville, Missouri line all the way to Lake Michigan. Thursday, the worst could occur from the Twin Cities down to Waterloo, Iowa area and on Friday from Wausau, Wisconsin down to Dixon, Illinois. Heavy rain amounts of 2-4 inches are likely. As temperatures plunge Saturday, starting out the day in the mid to upper 50s but likely to be in the 40s by late afternoon, snow could develop with some accumulation possible from International Falls, Minnesota down to Maple, Wisconsin. Warms up again beginning Tuesday. Next Wednesday, well into the 70s again before a longer stretch of cooler weather sets in. 70s tomorrow and again on Thursday here dropping into the upper 60s Friday, 50s Saturday and Sunday before getting back into the 60s on Monday. Watch Thursday and Friday. The more damaging storms should be south of Rhinelander but the Northwoods should also stay on guard.
