Sevgili Öğrencilerimiz, Hepinize sağlıklı, başarılı ve neşeli bir dönem diliyorum! Aşağıdaki konulara dikkatinizi çekmek, bazı hatırlatma ve tavsiyelerde bulunmak istiyorum: 1. Öncelikle önemli tarihler: Bu dönem kayıtlar 23-27 Eylül tarihleri arasında. Dersler 30 Eylül’de başlıyor. İlk ders haftası 30 Eylül – 4 Ekim tarihleri arasında olacak. Ders ekleme-bırakma periyodu 7 – 9 Ekim tarihleri arasında. 2. İlk ders haftası çok önemli. Ders veren öğretim elemanları bu hafta boyunca tüm derslere girecek ve ders tanıtımı, dersin işlenme biçimi ve lojistik gibi konularda bilgi verecekler. Bu hafta dönem boyunca alacağınız dersleri tanımak ve seçmeli dersler hakkında sağlık karar verebilmek için çok önemli bir fırsattır. İlk hafta derslerin tüm oturumları yapılacağından, birinci saatine gelemediğiniz bir dersin iki ya da üçüncü saatlerine gelerek yukarıdaki bilgileri alabilirsiniz. 3. Ders ekleme-bırakma periyodunda alacağınız seçmeli dersleri kesinleştirmeniz ve ders programınızı nihayetlendirmeniz gerekiyor. Yasal maazeret ve meşru istisnalar olmadan bu tarihler dışında ders değişikliği yapmanız mümkün olmayacaktır. 4. Yeteri kadar öğrenci kaydedemeyen seçmeli dersler 11 Ekim tarihinde kapanacak ve bir daha açılması söz konusu olmayacaktır. 5. Geçmiş dönemlerde kapasitesi dolan seçmeli derslerin Bölüm Başkanı onayı ile kapasite arttırımı yapılabiliyordu. Bu dönemden itibaren ancak çok sınırlı ve istisnai durumlarda kapasite arttırımı yapılabilecektir. Bu nedenle kayıt dönemi Üniversite’de bulunup ders öğretim elemanları ve danışmanlarınızla yüz yüze kayıt sürecini tamamlamanızı tavsiye ederim. Böylelikle kuralların uygulanmasından kaynaklanabilecek sıkıntılar en az düzeye indirilmiş olacaktır. 6. Son olarak size bu dönem pilot uygulaması başlayan ve bildiğim kadarıyla Türkiye’de ilk kez Bilgi İletişim’de açılan Independent Interdisciplinary Work (IIW) derslerini tanıtmak isterim. Doğrudan Dekanlığa bağlı olan bu ders birinci sınıf birinci dönem hariç tüm İletişim Fakültesi öğrencilerine açıktır. IIW, standart müfredat derslerinden farklı olarak Fakülte akademik çıktıları ile uyumlu üretim ve uygulamalara katılarak akademik kredi almanıza olanak tanıyor. Lütfen Fakülte binalarındaki ve facebook/ifbilgi’ye koyulacak açıklamaları dikkatle izleyin. Dönem boyunca çalışarak, üreterek ve çalışmalarınızı raporlayarak not alabilir, seçmeli ders sayınızı eksiltebilirsiniz. I would like to direct your attention to a number of issues and make a few suggestions: 1. First of all important dates: This term registrations will take place between September 23rd and 27th. Courses will begin on the 30th of September. First week of classes is September 30th thru November 4th. Add-drop period is between November 7th and 9th. 2. First week of classes is very important. During this week, teaching staff will attend all the courses they are going to teach and be present in the classroom in all the sessions of the course. First week of classes is the best opportunity for you to get to know the courses you have registered and to make a healthy decision as to which elective course you are going to take. Those who cannot make it in the first hour, can learn the content of the course by attending the second or the last hours of the same course. 3. You are required to make a final decision of the electives you will take and finalize your schedule. It will not be possible to make changes in your schedule unless there are legal circumstances or legitimate exceptional situations. 4. Under-registered courses will be closed on November 11th and will not be re-opened under any circumstances. 5. In previous terms, it was possible to make capacity increase for courses that are full per Department Head’s permission. Beginning this term, capacity increase will be allowed only under exceptional circumstances and to a very limited extent. In this respect, I suggest you to be present in the University and finish registration process with the help of advisors and teaching staff. In this way, inconveniences that the implementation of the rules might cause would be minimized. 6. Last but not least, I would like to introduce you the pilot implementation of Independent Interdisciplinary Work (IIW) course we have set off this semester for the first time, to my knowledge, first time in Turkey. The course will be tied directly to the Dean’s Office and be open to all Faculty of Communication students except for the first semester of the Freshman class. IIW, different from standard courses in the curriculum, offers the opportunity to receive academic credits by joining production and practice activities compatible with Faculty academic outcomes. Please carefully check posts on Faculty buildings and on facebook/ifbilgi. You can receive your grades and reduce number of electives by working, producing and writing reports through the semester.
