Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year VS Salman Khan’s Kick VS Aamir - TopicsExpress

Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year VS Salman Khan’s Kick VS Aamir Khan’s PK. Who did best this year among the Khans? Let’s begin with scrutinising SRK’s “Happy New Year” directed by Farah Khan. After facing failure back to back in her movies, Farah Khan finally decided to bring back her “Main Hoon Na” and “Om Shanti Om” star to save her day. With a typical Bollywood naach-gaana focused script, popular star cast, big budget shoot and there, “Happy New Year” was made and brought to us on our nearest big screens. Obviously the film also had some fantastic elements in it. How can we ignore SRK’s charming character and more over, perfectly toned abs! The dance moves and humorous factors were definitely the plus point of the movie, however the story wasn’t that thrilling and eye popping, it earned not-so-shockingly well overall. HNY earned impressively but lost to “Kick”. Salman Khan’s “Kick” directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, which is originally a remake of Telugu film of the same name was released in the year 2009. This is not the first time that Salman has chosen a remake. The actor seems to be in liking with existing films to give them a retouch with his own acting skills than consider the original concepts. Just like HNY, the sole purpose of “Kick” was to entertain. With same old typical “Bhai” inspired story line, Salman carries the whole weight of the movie in his strong shoulders and does what he’s best at, that is entertaining his fans with a perfect action-packed spicy film. It was no shocker when “Kick” set a whole new record with its superb box office collection. We witnessed SRK’s “Happy New Year” almost beat Salman’s “Kick” in box office. Going by the storyline and entertainment, “Kick” definitely stands out between SRK’s “Happy New Year” and Aamir Khan’s “PK”. Aamir Khan’s much awaited film “PK” turned out to be a huge disappointment, mainly because people were expecting a lot from Mr. Perfectionist, thanks to all the secrecy maintained while promoting the film and Aamir’s innovative look in movie posters and trailer. Aamir constantly is seen repeating the words that, “the movie conveys an important message,” whenever asked why “PK” failed to stand up to the mark. Even with a disappointing story and negative to mixed reviews, “PK”, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is doing quite well at the box office and is likely to beat Salman Khan’s “Kick” Lifetime total box office collection.
