Shaken at the Very Core of My Being! I woke up this morning to - TopicsExpress

Shaken at the Very Core of My Being! I woke up this morning to a very solemn message in my inbox. It was from someone who has stood by me in my endeavors for some time. They were apologizing because they had not been able to offer financial support to The Odyssey Consortium and our introduction of the Black First Initiative. They assured me that they believed in what I was doing, along with the other leaders of the Odyssey Consortium. You could sense the disappointment in the words that were typed. She said that she had stopped participating in the conversations on the show and our perspective pages, because she did not want to seem like a talker only, and not a doer. This literally broke my heart, because I know this person. She is far more than just a talker and has a great deal to add. She is seriously going through some very difficult times right now. Ironically, if blacks would actually come together, The Odyssey Consortium has the blueprint that would ensure that we could literally engage the needs of our people when they hit hard times such as this. We are putting the New Black Wall Street theme and Black Group Economics on steroids --- presenting a national network of communities that all work to ensure that each is successful and secure. One black nation forged from many backgrounds and religious beliefs for one common cause --- the elevation and empowerment of the black race! I wanted to tell this person that we would help meet her needs, but the financial support just isnt there. Trust me, we are working to ensure that we will be able to do this in the future, whether we receive financial support or not, but it would be nice to be able to have resources available now. The truth is that we should be willing to support a cause such as this in the same way in which we jump on all of the other trending madness that does nothing for our people, but rob us of more of our precious resources. The fact that we need the support of blacks has been stated on multitudinous occasions, to no avail. For us to truly rise, we must come together. For us to be empowered we must embrace the vision of a united economy. For us to be truly liberated, we must accept the responsibility of sacrifice and commitment to the struggle. There is no gift or sacrifice too small to make an impact. Will you make a difference? Give now! ==> gofundme/RealTalk
