Shakespeare Halloween??? Steve Zinkgraf, actor and associate producer for the Prague Shakespeare Company, will discuss the dark side of the works of William Shakespeare, on Thursday, October 30th at 7 p.m. at the New Braunfels Public Library. The program, aptly entitled “Shakespeare Halloween,” will examine the witches and ghosts that play major roles in Shakespeare’s tragedies. Zinkgraf will also explore Shakespeare’s depiction of good and evil, and offer examples from the bard’s plays of good people doing bad things. Steve Zinkgraf made his Prague Shakespeare Company debut as Lord Capulet in Romeo and Juliet. Other Shakespeare appearances include Duncan in Macbeth, Nestor in Troilus and Cressida, and Antonio in Twelfth Night. He has extensive training in classical acting through Shakespeare and Company, where he is also on the Rose Theatre Privy Council, which is chartered to build a replica of the Rose Theatre. Steve has also served on the Board of Directors of Austin Shakespeare Festival. “We’re thrilled to have Steve Zinkgraf back at the library to present this timely Shakespeare program,” said Library Director, Gretchen Pruett. “Shakespeare’s Halloween – from the witches of Macbeth to the ghost of Hamlet’s father - is bound to entertain and possibly even frighten fans of William Shakespeare.” For more information about this event please call Alix Samuels at 830-221-4316.
