Shakopee, Minn. – On Monday, Oct. 13, Anthony James Cox was found guilty in Scott County District Court of Murder -1st Degree – Premeditated, Murder-1st Degree - With Intent - While Committing a Felony and Aggravated Robbery-1st Degree in the Oct. 22, 2013, death of Aaron Moran. The sentencing hearing will be held later today. “We know this was a difficult time for the victim’s family and we hope this verdict brings some sort of closure,” said Shakopee Police Chief Jeff Tate. “I would like to thank the Scott County Attorney’s Office and express my gratitude to those who helped bring the defendant to justice. I am extremely proud of everyone in our Department who worked this case, especially our records staff, evidence tech, investigators and the patrol officers who responded to the initial call.
