Shalom ! Street Evangelist Robert Jones I am the GOOD SHEPHERD: the GOOD SHEPHERD gives His life for the SHEEP. But he that is an HIRELING, and NOT the SHEPHERD, whose OWN the SHEEP are NOT, sees the WOLF coming, and leaves the SHEEP, and flees: and the WOLF catches them, and SCATTERS the SHEEP (John 10:11, 12)… I’m always so FASCINATED at how EASY it is for us as Christians to ABANDON our POSTS that we CLAIM God called us to in order to be something or FULFILL another POST that He hasn’t CALLED us to. I’m especially FASCINATED at PASTORS who CLAIM Jesus called them to be over a FLOCK of people, to TEACH, GUIDE, and DISCIPLE them, yet they themselves are always off on a PREACHING TOUR or PREACHING at another Pastor’s CHURCH as a HIRELING, instead of being at their own CHURCH they say God appointed them over. Unless, of course, their own CHURCH is doing everything in MINISTRY it’s supposed to be doing, all the members are properly DISCIPLED, and there’s no further NEED of a SHEPHERD to be over them anymore at all. I’m always AMAZED when I come across a CHURCH whose PASTOR hasn’t been there for WEEKS at a time because he/she is BUSY somewhere else PREACHING-FOR-DOLLARS at someone else’s CHURCH, ACTIVITY, or AFFAIR, leaving the MEMBERS in the HANDS of those NOT CALLED to be their PASTOR/SHEPHERD. There must be lots of MONEY to be made in being a TRAVELING HIRELING as opposed to a good SHEPHERD that’s STATIONARY at their POST where God CALLED them to be as PASTOR over a FLOCK. MONEY over CALLING must be the NEW-WAVE Pastor’s MANTRA since so many are on that traveling CIRCUIT; which, of course, use to be the FUNCTION of the EVANGELIST. And we WONDER why the Body of Christ members are all CONFUSED, WEAK, UNLEARNED, and make VERY LITTLE IMPACT in the WORLD around us – we’re trying to OPERATE without a PASTORIAL HEAD!!! Shalom
