Shaping Workshop Saturday, September 7, 12:30-2pm $35 -includes 1 skein of Lambs Pride Bulky with which to construct your sampler. Materials: Please bring 8-10” size 10 straight needles (or dps with point protectors). No circular needles. Skills Required: how to cast on, knit and purl. If you have ever wondered about the differences between increase and decrease techniques, this class is for you! Understanding the various stitch patterns, which produce shaping in your knitted fabric, is crucial to becoming the master of your knitting (and leading to basic design techniques). We will construct a simple sampler with various stitch patterns, including k2tog, ssk, various double decrease options, m1L, m1R, twisted loop increases, and much more. Your stitch sampler will become a vital knitting tool as you decipher new patterns and learn to design your own shawls, sweaters, and other garments. Never again will you wonder, did I do that stitch right? All you have to do is consult your sampler to check your technique. The teacher is Jennifer Thompson Miller of Dizzylettuce.
