Shared: As an indigene of Adamawa, im well aware that Nyakos government has under-performedbeyond expectations. But so have Akpabio and other chief executives plotting his removal - including President Jonathan. So, why were they not impeached? Why didnt the National Assembly investigate the president for mis-spending trillion Naira defence budgets and allowing Boko Haram to kill tens of thousands and displace 6 million of our countrymen from their homes? Why didnt the purchase of bullet-proof cars with unappropriated funds by Stella Oduah warrant her prosecution by the same EFCC which froze the accounts of Adamawa State and prevented payment of June salaries to civil servants? Why did the FGN drop charges of stealing 446 billion Naira against Mohammed Abacha? If those are not impeachable offenses, neither are Nyakos. To those thinking im justifying someones corruption by citing corruption by others, my answers to you are the legal maxim that selective justice is injustice, and the popular quotation by the famous scholar Usman dan Fodio that a nation can withstand disbelief, but no nation can withstand injustice. In the final analysis, Adamawa State legislators and the FGN are the oppressors in the plot to impeach Gov. Nyako, whose fault is not corruption as widely claimed, but retribution for his insistence that the FGN is helping Boko Haram to destroy northern Nigeria. Yes, Nyako may not be entirely blameless of impeachable offences, but neither are his oppressors, including the president and his cronies.
