Shared by Kevin..... Well here we go again. It really annoys me that as a resident of surrey that pays a huge amount of council tax once again I will not be allowed to use a large part of the county again next weekend as half the roads are yet again being shut to cater for lycra clad cyclist (a lot of whom will not even be Surrey residents). Now I ride a pushbike and also have a motorbike car and camper van and also drive a lorry for a living now each of these vehicles apart from the cycle has to be insured and I have to have taken a test before I am allowed to take them on the road but with a push bike no training is needed along with no registration or insurance. I also cant imagine the roads being shut down for any other form of transport to have the roads to themselves. I suppose I should count myself lucky I dont actually live on the route or I would either be a prisoner or locked out of my house for a couple of days. If this was a one off it would not annoy me as much, but as this is about the forth or fifth time in the last couple of years I think it is about time Surrey put its residents first.
