Shared by Shoreline Police Department: (5 hours ago): Working together, a burglar is apprehended! Sunday, Jan 25, at approximately 7:00 pm near NW Innis Arden Way and 6 Ave NW a resident returned home to find a burglar in her home. She went to the neighbors house where they watched the events unfold until the police arrived. Just prior to the police arrival, the suspect fled the home. The homeowner and neighbors were able to tell us where the suspect had run towards. The suspect was arrested hiding in the backyard of a home nearby. A K-9 confirmation track was done. The eyewitnesses were able to identify the suspect. The suspect then gave a complete confession. Reposting with a little more detail (And then shared this an hour ago): On Sunday January 25th at approximately 7:00 pm a homeowner returned home in the 16200 block of 5th NW and noticed a subject in the house with a flashlight. The homeowner quickly went to a neighbors house and called 911. Several Shoreline police officers responded arriving within 4 minutes. Just prior to the police arrival, the suspect fled the house carrying a back pack and pillow case. A neighbor was able to point the police in the direction the suspect fled. Officers found the 36 year old male hiding in a nearby back yard where he was taken into custody. Evidence of the crime was found: backpack, flashlight, gloves and property stolen from the home. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Burglary; his last known address is in Shoreline.
