Shared from Courier mail: Two firefighters are recovering in hospital after a roof collapsed on them while they were fighting a house fire in Deception Bay. Fire crews received a call just before 8pm that a fire had broken out at a house on Moore St. The fire caused extensive damage to the house but no occupants were injured. Local resident Michael McGrath said the owner had been down the road at a friend’s house when she was told about the fire. According to Mr McGrath two firefighters were injured during the operation. “They kicked the front door in and the roof collapsed on them,” he said. The crew members were taken to hospital for minor injuries. Investigations are continuing.
