Shared from the Status of Gregory Glass: Getting ready for the war described in Ezekiel 38 and Daniel 9. This is the war that ushers in the anti-Christ, that son of Perdition, [Mahdī to muslims]. Son of man, set thy face against Gog [anti-christ, ie., Satan], the land of Magog [ Russia], the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal [Northern Europe, Asia], and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia [Iran, Northern Africa], Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet. Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah [Turkey] of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. - Ezekiel 38:2-6 Now note that Syria is not mentioned. Why? Because Syria is already destroyed and Damascus is leveled prior to this war. [See: Isaiah 17:1-11, Zechariah 9-11, Amos 1:3-5, Zephaniah 2]. Zechariah also gives a description of this war: And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. -Zech. 14:12 How it will end. And he [anti-christ] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [7 years]: and in the midst of the week [3 1/2 years] he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. - Daniel 9:27
