Severe Weather Bulletin No.10 #GlendaPH Tropical Cyclone Warning: Typhoon Glenda” (Rammasun) Issued At 11:00 PM, 15 July 2014 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 5 AM today) PSWS #2 (Winds of 61-100 Kph is expected in at least 24 hours) • #SouthernAurora, #NuevaEcija, #Pangasinan, #Romblon, #Masbate, northern parts of #OrientalMindoro and #OccidentalMindoro including #LubangIsland, and #NorthernSamar TYPHOON “GLENDA” INTENSIFIED FURTHER AS IT TRAVERSES RAGAY GULF AND MOVES TOWARDS SOUTHERN QUEZON Location of eye/center: At 10:45 PM today, the eye of Typhoon “GLENDA” was located based on all available data and Baler Radar Station at 65 km Southeast of Alabat, Quezon (13.6°N, 122.6°E). Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph. Forecast Positions: Typhoon “GLENDA” is expected to cross Metro Manila before noon tomorrow and exit the Luzon landmass via Zambales by Wednesday evening. It will be at 450 km Northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL: PSWS #3 (Winds of 101-185 kph is expected in at least 18 hours) • #Catanduanes, #Albay, #Sorsogon, #CamarinesNorte. #CamarinesSur, #Quezon including #PolilloIslands and #AlabatIsland, #Marinduque, #Laguna, #Batangas, #Rizal, #Burias and #Ticao Islands, #Cavite, #Bulacan, #Bataan, #Pampanga, #Tarlac, #Zambales, and #MetroManila PSWS #1 (Winds of 30-60 Kph is expected in at least 36 hours) • rest of #Aurora, #Quirino, #NuevaVizcaya, #Benguet, #LaUnion, rest of #OrientalMindoro and #OccidentalMindoro, #Biliran, #NorthernCebu including #CebuCity, #CamotesIslands, and #BantayanIsland, northern part of #Leyte, #EasternSamar, and #Samar. • Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered. • Residents in low-lying and mountainous areas under signal #3, #2, & #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under signal #3 and #2 are alerted against storm surges of up to 3 meters. • Estimated rainfall amount is from 7.5 - 30.0 mm per hour (moderate to intense) within the 500 km diameter of the typhoon. • Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas. • The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11PM today.
