Sharing ... March 13th is now officially ! The vote is now official: 82 to 14 in favor of a Supplemental Budget that contains NO NEW TAXES – meaning, HB2975 is dead and !!!!! Tonight is a night to celebrate. The last 20 days has been brutal, but it also galvanized our whole community. The greed and ignorance in Olympia was overwhelmed with the deep convictions of Vapers statewide. What else could bring manufacturers, distributors, retailers and consumers together so fast, so profoundly and with such conviction. Im proud to be part of this group and am blessed to have had the opportunity to lead us to victory. But is was not a solo effort. I need to offer a hearty Thank You to so many people – Stu Halsan (our lobbyist); Michael Thorn (my right hand man); Joshua Baba (also my wing man and great orator on our behalf), Kim Thompson (God Mother of our Industry in WA), Marc Jarrett (Motivator and Global Thinker); Joe Barnett (Founder of Vaping Militia), Devin Greene (Grass Roots Coordinator in Vancouver area), Shaun DSylva (Strategic Thinker, Orator and just a great businessman), Chuck Bertrand (A True Friend always willing to help and pitch in), Will Zekan (Boots on the ground and willing to assist in every way), Collett Dow (Great Consultant through the whole process), Dick Muri – Chris Rykdahl – J.T. Wilcox – Sam Hunt – Roger Goodman and many other legislators that stood tall on our behalf and fought a hard battle behind closed doors to preserve our industry. Im sure Im missing some folks here so please forgive me. Just know how deeply thankful I am for everyone that has pitched in to work together for a common cause – to help people quit smoking and start the healthier lifestyle of Vaping. For now, we can celebrate a much needed victory. More hard work lies ahead. We will be getting more organized and putting strategies in place for the next year. I will be back to you shortly, but for now, its time to celebrate and also to rest.
