Sharing a little about me.. Since my 11th standard, I am riding bike. Hero splendor 100CC was the first bike I rode. My father taught me how to ride it, it took time of one week. Once I learnt i never looked back. My father always encouraged me towards that and I would say he is one of the best father of the world. I am lucky to born in such a family who gave me all freedom and just grew me up as an individual, never made me feel that I am a girl. After 2years of riding which I did in my hometown, I came to Noida for further studies and after I completed my engineering, I came to Bangalore. So approximately for 7 years I didn’t ride bike except when I used to visit my hometown. On 8th March 2013, I got invitation by Mr. Ramesh (Road king Rambo) for one bike ride on International women’s day. I didn’t have bike and renting bike was so expensive and moreover I was scared because I was not at all used to of city riding like Bangalore. But I thought of giving a try and sent a mail in few groups about my requirement that I want to be a pillion rider if any girl is riding to this event. And I got a reply from a girl called Ramya (we are still friends though we get to talk less ) who owns a bullet I was amazed to see a girl owns a bullet, I was like WOW. We met on 8th March morning, her husband came to see her off, I was even more amazed to see that her husband supports her for all that. I was wishing and still wishes I should also get one like that ;) ;) After that I continued riding. I did some short trips like Nandi Hills, Devanahalli, Thattakere, Kolli Hills, Hampi, Yellagiri, Lepakshi, Masinagudi, Waynad and Mysore and to name a few more. After doing all these trips in group and friends, I thought of experiencing solo trips and I didn’t take very much time in executing ;) In the month of Feb 2014. One fine morning, I asked to one of my friend Prashant to lend me his RE TB, I love his bike especially because of kick-start and he had modified it a little. It took me 15mins to learn, how to start it. And I was all set to leave to Chennai. It was a solo trip and I did Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore in 12 hrs which is 700kms approx. both ways. In March end 2014 I did Bangalore -> Pune. Solo unplanned trip, 850kms in 16hrs including overnight ride on Yamaha SZ-R. After 2 days back from Pune – Bangalore. Below is the link where i have shared my experience of Chennai and Pune ride. cosmicendeavours.blogspot.in/ I am sure many must be having one question in their mind, from where the idea of k2k came to my mind? Why did I choose only this particular route, why not East to West expedition? So the answer is here, One day on one trip to Haserghatta with one of my best buddy Roshan, I was discussing that I want to go on one long solo ride. He gave me some options. I didn’t like any of them. One by one it went on and suddenly with full of excitement he said “Why don’t you try solo K2K expedition, it will be a lifetime achievement and moreover I am sure no female rider would have done it , you will be the first one”. That was something clicked to my mind and I started thinking about it seriously. It took 15 days for me to decide and confirm that I am going to do k2k. Today when I have achieved it, I feel so happy and proud. I am first female rider (India’s and world’s) and I did it just at a very tender age about which every rider keeps dreaming whole life and this is something which no one can take away from me. Keep tuned for more……..
