Sharing again, because its important. Please forward, and if you have connections with animal advocacy sites, share with them as well. This kitty mama intends to push for her rights to the fullest extent the law will allow, and that requires support. To those who feel she was at fault, there is such a thing as a calculated risk. These include leaving the house every morning, using any form of transportation, eating any kind of food not grown, harvested, and cooked oneself, and being exposed to members of the public. If fault fell upon a victim simply because that victim should have been aware that inappropriate behavior on the part of his or her peers might result in harm, there would be no such thing as tort law at all. We all know that there is risk involved in our everyday activities. That does not make everyone guilty of negligence by virtue of living their daily lives. This man misled the victim in regards to the level of training his dogs had received. He was negligent in operating the fail-safe that until the death of the cat, *had worked* to keep the victim and her pets safe! It is his action - leaving the gate open, thus giving his dogs direct access to the victims area of the house, including her cats and her belongings - that resulted in the death of the cat and the destruction of the victims belongings. And it is his continued choices that have led to the victims having to turn to the law. 1) the day the cat was killed, he gathered the dogs and left the house, telling his tenant that she should be out by morning. This is illegal eviction, and is the height of cruelty. He literally left her screaming in the mud, cradling her dead cat in her arms, with no notice, no place to go, and no help to get there. 2) When the victim fled, many of her belongings were left in the home. This is because it is most often not possible to retrieve everything at once with zero notice of eviction. Not surprisingly, the victim does not own a U-Haul, and her vehicle is not large enough to fit everything she owns. Mr. Blacke has since refused to allow her access to the rest of her things. In fact, he has changed his phone number and relocated, with no forwarding address. The victims lawyer has attempted contact multiple times through all available channels, to no avail. This is CRIMINAL THEFT. PLEASE share this in as many animal advocacy forums as you can. Share it with your peers, your family, your local veterinarian, anyone you can think of. Fus deserves justice, and his owner deserves restitution for her loss, her suffering, and the belongings Mr. Blacke still refuses to return to her.
