We were not going to host but someone generously paid for him to come home and on the day he went to get his visa along with the other children he and a few other were denied told they travelled to much By the American embassy PLEASE READ and take a few minutes to contact congressman !!PLEASE I am reaching out to you, asking for your help. It appears that all hosting groups have some children who have been denied visas for Christmas. The Embassy suddenly, and arbitrarily changed their stance on issuing visas to children they feel have traveled too much. There is no law or regulation that limits the number of times a child can be hosted, and we have never had a child not returned. All families have signed a legally binding document, stating that the host children must be returned. How our own government can deny these children a respite from the hell they live in, is unacceptable. We have families who have paid for plane tickets. We have groups, churches and individuals who have made plans for these children. And worst of all, the kids who they were coming for Christmas. The five P143 visas were denied right in front of the children, who are understandably crushed. So, heres what you can do to help. Email, call or fax your Senators and Congressional representative. I have uploaded a contact for so its simple to find your Senators and Congressmen. I also drafted a sample letter. You can plug in your name, your legislators name, and customize it if you wish. Its that easy. Or call and ask them to reach out to the US Embassy in Kyiv and approve all the waiting children for Christmas travel.
