Sharing of stories is vital in passing on our history and values...We honor Martin Luther King Jr. today with one of his most memorable speeches. In the sharing of this story we honor what he dreamed of and what he worked to achieve. He called a nation, and its people, to live out the true meaning of its existence and its heritage and in so doing infused his people with pride and the necessary determination to change their world. He made the oppressed feel that they were not alone, he gave hope to the poor, friendship to the lonely, understanding to the ignorant, and helped the lost find their way. His views and thoughts were breathtaking, yet simple, his vision spanned the whole of human conduct, and he had strength born of humility; he was a man of his times, for all times, and all nations.
