Sharing some exciting news (read post before commenting) as today we are taking steps towards a ground breaking/construction this Spring of the largest building in NJ - 95 stories. It is exciting on many fronts as we lead the state of NJ in job creation, and the growth helps increase the ratable base that will benefit all of the city towards stable/decreasing taxes. While this is exciting news I can anticipate some feedback here so I will do my best to get ahead of it with some notes: 1) This is located next to the Goldman Sachs building so it will not impact the low rise neighborhood 2) this is the largest condo project in the state. The developer is entitled to two towers with more density. We changed to one iconic tower (better), changed to condos instead of rentals (better), and lowered the density vs what was planned before (all benefits to community) 3) The city/state is currently constructing schools and we constantly monitor infrastructure demands vs supply. We do this for schools, sewers, and resources to make sure we can handle. 4) Port Authority is currently extending trains and train platforms for accommodate growth. This is a project they have already undertaken and we are aware to make sure we can handle growth. 5) anyone who comments only downtown etc is disengenous as they havent been following investment in other wards and are basing comments on no facts All in all, that is my best guess at comments but with that said this is exciting times for Jersey City. nj/hudson/index.ssf/2015/01/950-foot_tower_tallest_in_nj_planned_for_downtown.html#incart_river
