Sharing something on my heart.... Our generation has been trained to think the measure of our worth is recognition. How many people know and follow us. This is why so many create alternate realities and personas in social media. Why cars, hair, food, butts, clothes and everything but character, integrity, humility and servant leadership are being celebrated. People are literally dying to be noticed. With that, we have men who preach and post about community building and wanting a Michelle Obama replica to love, but are unwilling to man up, die unto self and be deserving in return. We have women who write about female empowerment but are vicious in their dealings with other women. We have self-made, self-serving celebrities who are building entire empires off of emptiness. We are becoming increasingly watered down and shallow. Mean and self-absorbed. Delivering calculated messages of #realtalk to the masses yet not consuming #truth ourselves. So I must ask - what is it going to take for us to first repair and heal ourselves before we go on missions to liberate others? You are your first and greatest example of freedom found. Dont sell me something I dont think youve ever truly experienced. In the end, real recognizes real.
