Sharing the status of my friends who have flown to Denmark to be part of the Sea Shepherd crew: Janine and I are devastated. We are in Copenhagen, DENMARK and we were out to dinner.. waiting the evening out to continue our trip to the Faroe Islands at 7am when we get wifi at the Restaurant and an update on what is taking place only 1 hour ago on the Faroe islands. Whales have been murdered. Sea Shepherd Volunteers have been arrested for almost just wading in water toward the Whales that were being slaughtered, they were transported by the Danish Government by Helicopter to Torshavn.. When our evening ended, so had the lives of countless harmless, beautiful innocent whales... For now, this is all we can feel and think about.. Then comes the realisation that the volunteers who feel so much for these beautiful majestic creatures have been arrested. People like Janine and I.. People who you know and love.. Your family, your friend.. going to Jail for NO REASON but because they wanted to save the lives of these sentient beings. Can you imagine being so close to such torture and cruelty and NOT being able to get close enough to help? We feel the same way, being so close to the Faroes and not being able to help. This is the whole reason to be there.. To do something. And these people.. these people we wanted to put our judgement aside for.. they laugh and cheer as the Whales were murdered.. They laugh and cheer as people (your friends and family) are being arrested for trying to help them.. What on earth is wrong with this world we all live in. Denmark Governemt shame! Faroese Shame! what is wrong with you? It is no longer about survival and admit, it has not been for some time! Now, its just a game. Its your ego! To our friends who worry we would have been involved.. We are NOT. We are safe and sound but mark our words, there will be NO hesitation for us to do the same thing! We are devastated.. Truly devastated and we need the hours to pass so we can go and help our friends.. and the poor defenseless Whales. We are so sad to be a part of this world right now!
