Sharing these photos from a history plaque on the Allegheny Bike Trail where it passes through Adelaide near the Campground. The first shows a worker loading an Adelaide coke oven stating that by 1910 around four fifths of Pennsylvania coke ovens were located in the Connellsville Region. The second photo shows Adelaide workers in 1899, notice the wooden coal tipple behind them. Finally, this map showing the many coke works near Adelaide in 1899.
