I dont know if it is something youd feel comfortable getting involved with, I know youve had very public run ins with big organisations before, but there is an issue currently where the Sue Ryder charity is arranging several fundraising events at races at Peterborough Greyhound Track. There are a great many, mostly polite, messages and complaints on the Sue Ryder page, telling them about the horrors of greyhound racing and asking them not to raise money for their cause by supporting the misuse of these lovely creatures, but they come back with a standard reply that they are assured by the organisers commitment to welfare or people are having their posts deleted and being blocked from their page. Not one person has been rude or abusive. This page has been set up to campaign for Sue Ryder to stop raising funds at the expense of greyhound racing and to look closely at what goes on within this sport as their support of it is in danger of damaging their cause and reputation. We have so far gained 118 likes in just 24 hours, which shows the amount of support for the dogs - everyone joining is in full support of the charity, just not some of the methods they use to raise what we appreciate are much-needed funds. I dont know if youd be able to lend your voice or at least share the page, but any help is much appreciated, but understand if you feel you cant do so.
