Sharing this so all could see.... what advice would you give? If you have a dog, your partner runs off taking the dog and leaving no contacts etc, then the dog turns up in a rescue, what are your rights? This person recognises the dog, has proof of ownership, but the rescue place refuse to discuss it further. The owner has asked to visit the dog, but to no avail. Also any attempts to call are now being blocked. Im asking because if that happened to me, Id be so distraught. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. If a rescue has taken a dog from a pound after waiting the seven days, who is the legal owner now? Is it it discretionary that they give it back? Do you have to go to court to fight this one if both sides cant agree?
