Sharing time. When I first started my placement I thought that itd be a pain. Working full time hours without pay and staying away from home for 5 nights a week doesnt sound like much fun. Now, I miss it more than anything. Sure, its lovely to be called an angel, a blessing, nurse of the century and all that jazz, but whats even more amazing is knowing that Ive affected someone in such a positive way. The look in their eyes when they say, thank you, either because Id helped them shower, pulled out a cannula, helped them eat their lunch, or simply provided them with some company and support is, by far, the most phenomenal gift Ive ever received. I am so incredibly lucky to have found what I was born to do at such a young age and am so very grateful for every ounce of support Ive been shown.
