Shark Alley Records - Shark Fest 15 Announcement We are very pleased to announce the addition of International Touring / Recording Artist THE JOHN WESLEY BAND to our incredible lineup of talent performing at the Shark Fest 15 Event. Featuring the legendary guitarist/vocalist for critically acclaimed UK based recording act and 2 time grammy nominee Porcupine Tree, during the In Absentia, Deadwing, Fear of a Blank Planet, and The Incident world tours. He has performed in the band for nine years, culminating in 2010 with sold out performances at Radio City Music Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. In recent years he as performed lead guitars and background vocals for White Lion frontman Mike Tramp, subbed on lead guitar and bass for Gainesvilles Sister Hazel, and as lead guitarist for Scottish neo-prog legend Fish on many lengthy European, American and South American Tours and on several US and European Solo dates. John Wesleys professional music career began in the early 1980s in the Tampa, Florida area where he founded 1991 Southwestern Music Conferences showcase act Autodrive. The following year Wesley embarked on a solo career and became the premier opening act for British rockers Marillion on seven consecutive tour legs around the world -- especially North and South America, the UK and Europe -- where he played for hundreds of thousands of fans. In 1998, Wesley embarked with ex-White Lion front-man Mike Tramp on an extensive tour as premier opening act for the prestigious Peter Frampton/Lynryd Skynyrd tour. Following this was several world Tours with Scottish artist Fish. In 2001, John Wesley was the primary co-writer of Fish’s Fellini Days album. He began touring as guitarist and backing vocalist for Porcupine tree in 2002, and has continued his role with the band through four album cycles and over 450 shows. In 2005, Wes produced and recorded his fifth studio release, Shiver, co-produced by Mark Prator, and mixed by Steven Wilson of Porcupine tree. Wesley has toured the U.S. and Europe extensively to support his independent releases – performing as opening act for Marillion, Fish, Porcupine Tree, Sister Hazel, and Blackfield. In 2011, Wesley partnered with UK native Dean Tidey, to produce his EP, the lilypad suite. Wesley’s long awaited sixth full-length studio album, Disconnect,was recently released and he was recently nominated for a Prog award under the category of Breakthrough Artist of the Year. The band is currently involved in multiple US and European tours in support of the new album. The John Wesley Band also features drummer Mark Prator who also performed with Wesley in Autodrive and who recently toured with Sebastian Bach of Skid Row. He has also toured and performed with former White Lion front man, Mike Tramp and Scottish neo-prog legend Fish. Ian Medhurst on vocals & guitars and Sean Malone of Cynic on Bass & Chapman Stick. We are very proud to be able to have such a world renouned act performing at Shark Fest 15. Shark Alley is also very proud to be working with our good friends John Wesley and Mark Prator as co-producers of the upcoming Undercover Betty album.
