Sharon Hobson asked us to Name one thing you love about your cycling club. Heres what people have said so far: Matt Hazelhurst The heated debates! Sharon Hobson I love the friends I have made since joining this cycling (running) club. Judith Cooper U Sharon Hobson and the running Matt Hazelhurst Seriously.... The members. Loads of banter, and all round good eggs. Darren Billings Group riding, new friends, the banter and the abuse from Neal Wardman Julie Sidwell Hi sharon iv just joined today and will be running monday can you give me details etc ive heard a bit from Michelle Mannion looking forward to getting fit Michael Jervis Ive been in running clubs and things. Jordan OMara Support!, advice!, everyone!!, banter, giggles, bacon baps Not being made to breathe out of my butthole , not getting up early on sundays , not crashing Andrew Ebbage The diversity of riders and rides and, generally, how everyone just seems to get along so well! 13 January at 21:51 · Like · 7 Michelle Mannion Only one thing? Theres too much to mention - great people who become friends, advice, support, inspiration, sharing our passion for bikes (and running!) and being proud to wear our green and black ! Libby Clark Fun and fitness, squeals and laughter, support and friendship, and fantastic ride/run leaders xxx Jenny Gibbons Support and inclusion for everyone Dave Martin One thing Sharon? Thats a tall ask for a dark Tuesday night in January!!! If thats what you want Id have to reply Encouragement. There are so many genuine people in the club, like Andrew says at all different levels and abilities, yet there is an almost tangible feeling of acceptance, support and appreciation of where we each are in our cycling. I dont get to ride out with the Club that often due to working away in the week etc., but whenever Im fortunate enough to get out everyone is so friendly and the sense of belonging is great. When I first started cycling in 2011 I was shocked at how much fitter and faster everyone was (some things dont change!), but I was encouraged by lots of people (memorably Jonathan Wardle and Graham Whiting) and I have gone on to witness other people improve and achieve things for themselves, encouraged by their fellow club members. Jean-Paul Grumpy-b Wheater As Matt Hazelhurst says the members, loads of banter, and all round good eggs. Lee Hyson Mates:) Vic Eaton Everything x Bryn Hughes Cycling chums John Pattison B&DCC, and everything above as already written Emma Bradbury Friends. Andrew Ebbage Two and a bit years ago, I competed in my first ever hillclimb at Beeley. Tough but great climb, with a bunch of people from the club cheering/hollering at me about 200m from the finish to keep going. Once Id finished, and put my lungs back in place, I went down to join the group, only to he handed a delicious flapjack by someone Id never met before. That was you, Emma Bradbury Bill Seddon Inspiration. Zoe Hibbard ditto the above Bill Seddon! Mandy Davies The good friends you make !! Stefano Crappelli The logo Sonia Insley The great adventures we have together and the laughter and banter that follows. The sense of shared achievement you get from seeing others with the same goal crack that hill climb (or mountain), ride like the wind or cycle huge distances.
