Shasta Countys work release program is re-starting after five years, thanks to state AB 109 funding. About 200 inmates participate in the program, in which they grow fruits and vegetables to donate to nonprofit organizations such as the Good News Rescue Mission and Shasta Senior Nutrition Program.
