Shaunfogarty Appeal Please please share with all your face book friends. We are looking for help with fundraising for our nephew. Shaun Fogarty is 19 years of age and is from Cahir Co.Tipperary. On the 27th of July 2013 Shaun had an accident on his way home from work. Shaun’s family and friends are devastated over what has happened to Shaun and would like to help him, his parents and siblings at this time. Shaun is a young vibrant man who was looking forward to returning to 2nd year of college studying Applied Physics in University of Limerick. Shaun loved sports and was especially good at rugby and played for Kilfeacle. Shaun is the oldest of three children born to Kevin and Gretta Fogarty. Shaun has being diagnosed with a complete injury of his C1 and is currently being treated in the spinal unit of the Mater Hospital in Dublin. Shaun is dependent on a ventilator and because of this he is not suitable for rehabilitation in Dun Laoire. Shaun is only 19 years of age with a very well and active mind unfortunately Shaun’s body is far from active. Since his accident Shaun is lying in a hospital bed 24 hours a day 7 days a week and at this stage he needs to plan for his future. We are hoping to raise funds that will enable Shaun to travel to either Belfast or the UK for rehabilitation and then eventually come home to live with his parents with the aid of qualified carers. For Shaun to have a quality of life he will need lots of technological equipment which is very expensive. Shaun’s life changed on July the 27th 2013 and we hope to help Shaun’s life change again by getting him home as soon as we can. How can You Help We are hoping that individuals or groups will take it upon themselves to run a fundraiser and donate it to the fund (details are available on this page). Ideas for fundraising • Table quiz • Race nights • Coffee morning • Raffles • Social dancing • Charity night/ Dinner • No uniform day in schools • Unwanted clothes ( send to recycle shops that pay for them) • Bric a brac sale • Get your community to donate their small change • Get your local pub to run a night • Vintage tractor run • Darts tournament • Pool tournament • Head shave • Bag pack in local supermarket • Get local business to donate • Get transition year student to raise money as part of their year We are aware that times are hard and people are already stretched to the limit but we are hoping that if we can get as many people to help and give a little it will help Shaun a lot.
