She Had Been In Excruciating Agony For Days. As Infection Took Hold And Blood Poisoning Threatened, Rebecka’s Life Was Hanging By A Thread… The wound on Rebecka’s neck was savage and deep, and sadly, the cause will never be known. What we do know is that when one of our Animal Rescue Officers found her, her life was hanging in the balance. After being raced to our shelter, Rebecka was in immediate need of emergency treatment. The wound that punctured her neck was deep and infested with maggots. Rebecka herself was lifeless and silent, rapidly giving up hope. The battle to save her life began. Rebecka would have died were it not for Soi Dog supporters. With no government funding, we are powerless to help dogs like her without monthly donations. Our supporters have saved thousands to date – and Rebecka is the latest one. Our vets cleaned and dressed Rebecka’s wound, removing the maggots and providing her with pain relief and antibiotics to battle the infection. Within hours, she started to sit up. Within days, her tail began to wag. Rebecka is being monitored very closely but we are hopeful this beautiful girl will make a full recovery.
