She Is Only 4 Years Old And She Is Going Through A Lot Of Pain In Life. Her name is Zhiqi He. When she was 2 years old, she got into a car accident. She survived but her legs had to be amputated. The only wish she has in life is to be able to stand up and walk again, just like everyone else. When she was 1 year old, her grandmother died in a car accident. In March of 2013, her mother left her and her father. 3 days later, while she was playing by herself in front of her father’s auto shop, a reckless truck driver hit her and crushed her legs. A year after the accident, she was given artificlal legs and had to train with them everyday with the help of nurses in the hospital. Everytime she was unwilling to put them on, her grandpa would ask her,”Do you want to go to school or not?” And this would encourage her to put them on. Due to her family being poor, the death of her grandma, and her mother running away from home, her grandpa has all the burden and responsibility on his shoulders. Zhiqi says,”My grandpa is always here to take care of me. I love him. I have to grow up and make a lot of money for my grandpa.” The amount of pain she feels is immense, but she still makes herself walk and train 6 hours a day, hoping that someday, she can walk normally just like the other kids. To a 4 year old, walking with artificial legs is very difficult and painful. She falls many times a day. Here, she is wiping tears off her face. The kids in her neighborhood would sometimes come play with Zhiqi. At 4 years old, she is supposed to be jumping, running around, and having fun, but this is only a wish for her. After the kids from the neighborhood leave with their parents, Zhiqi would start crying because she is alone and has to continue training. Her father’s auto shop is the only source of money for the family right now, so he does not have the time to come visit little Zhiqi as often as he wants. Zhiqi would always tell her father,”Daddy, I will always be a good girl. Please don’t leave me.” What little Zhiqi does not know is that her father had even thought about committing suicide due to all the hardship. But everytime he thought about his father and little daughter, he would get back up on his feet. With all the training everyday, not only is Zhiqi tired, her grandpa is also feeling exhausted. He said,”I really don’t know how much longer I can continue like this.” After finishing her training, Zhiqi could finally take off her artificial legs and get a good nap. After she wakes up, she feels the happiest because she does not have to train anymore for the rest of the day. Every once a while, she would ask her grandpa take a walk around the neighborhood and the street market with her. Seeing how strong little Zhiqi has become, her grandpa has been feeling a lot better. Here’s Zhiqi playing with a cute little dog. She has been smiling and laughing a lot more often than before. Zhiqi gets tired from all the walking and wants her grandpa to carry her. Not only does her grandpa have to take care of her, he also has to play games with her, such as jigsaw puzzles. After she finishes her jigsaw puzzle, she happily shows it to everyone. The doctors are saying that she is recovering faster than they expected and in 3 more months, she should be able to walk and run normally like other kids. Let’s give her the best wishes!
