She gravitated toward my finger inside her incubator and I could tell there was an instant bond. While she couldn’t look into my eyes to reassure me she knew I was there, her body language told me. And I sat there for the next 40 minutes learning who my daughter was, and how she was not struggling to survive, but striving to prove the doctors she would make it despite the odds stacked against her. -Brenda Massung
