She opted out of the verced (the magic med that helps her feel calm before surgery). Why??? Because shes a big girl and surgery is no big deal anymore? NOPE. Because she hates the taste of the liquid and it doesnt come in pill form!!! YEP. SERIOUSLY?!?!? This is how the convo went prior to surgery... Doc: Do you have any questions or concerns, Chloe? Chloe: Just two...How soon can I eat after youre done? And do you carry versed in a pill? Doc: Well start with clear liquids when the surgery is over and go from there. Chloe: Ok. So like usual, then? What about the pill? I want a pill...the liquid is nasty. Doc: Your versed doesnt come in pill form and you cant have valium. Sorry. Later, when they hand over the dreaded liquid... Chloe: Do I really HAVE to take this? I wish Dad were here...he would MAKE me take it... Doc: Well, if you can handle it, then no, you dont have to have it. But, you may get nervous because your mom cant go back with you... Chloe: She never gets to go back. Just because you give me the medicine, it doesnt mean that I dont remember going back alone. We ride on the elevator....You tell me to breathe into the gas mask...Weve done this a million times...Ill skip the nasty meds.... I can do this. So, MAYBE it IS because shes a big girl and surgery is no big deal anymore... Everyday, I stand in awe, guys....
