She turns 27 tomorrow, so I thought why not feature her on this weeks Sitaare : Kal, Aaj Aur Kal, Yes shes the indian beauty Sonakshi Sinha. Sonakshi Sinha was born on 2 June 1987, to actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She is the youngest of three children with twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha. Sonakshi completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir in Mumbai and graduated in Fashion Designing from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Womens University, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She started her career as a costume designer, designing the costumes for films like Mera Dil Leke Dekho in 2005, and walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week 2008 and then again in Lakme Fashion Week 2009. Sonakshi then made her debut in the Hindi film industry with 2010s Dabangg opposite Salman Khan, which went onto become the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year. Sinha received positive reviews for her performance, as well as the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Post her debut, she went on to play the leading lady in some of Bollywoods biggest hits, including Rowdy Rathore (2012), Son of Sardaar (2012), and Dabangg 2 (2012). Though, she received negative reviews for her choice of previous roles (Joker and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara), Sinha received critical praise for her performance in Lootera (2013). After Lootera she had two more releases R Rajkumar opposite Shahid Kapoor, Tigmanshu Dhulias Bullett Raja alongside Saif Ali Khan. Both movies failed to create ripples at the box office. Her forthcoming films include Rajnikanths Lingaa directed by KS Ravikumar and A. R. Murugadosss titled Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty opposite Akshay Kumar. She has also been signed on for Prabhudevas Action Jackson with Ajay Devgn and Yami Gautam, as well as Boney Kapoors remake of Okkadu alongside Arjun Kapoor. She has sung a song and dubbed the voice of Jewel for Hollywood film Rio 2.
