She walked slowly through the aisles of Walmart today with timidly short steps for being mostly legs. The normal bounce in her stride had been dampened by the weight of the impending doom that hung so heavy I felt the need to tug on her shoulders to keep her from falling over. Being a Walmart Supercenter, there were millions of reasons for us to be there. We are in need of the makings for French dips for our 4th of July celebration. Nobody knew why we were there. Yet, she hid behind me as we marched towards our destination, using me as a human shield to cover her embarrassment from the judging eyes that didnt exist. There was no need to be shy. They wouldnt produce stuff in bulk if it wasnt a somewhat common occurrence that needed the attention of every grocery store in the country to be selling. Of course I am the one to pay the cashier as my shoulder is heated up from her breathing, as she is attempting to cover the blushing that so often happens with my wife. We quickly walk out of the store and make it back to our vehicle. All I need to do to start a barrage of comments from her that exclaim how horrible a person I am is give her a glance and quote something from Juno... I hold back. We get home. I begin to watch Gumball. She retreats to the bathroom. Moments later....
