Sheena Baharudin is an educator, spoken word artist, published poet and writer. Since her first performance seven years ago, she has won the local poetry slam twice and performed at both local and international events. Her recent performances included; She Walks like a Free Country, a seven-poet ensemble consisting of Malaysian and Singaporean spoken word artists; Tongue Tied which featured an ensemble of 10 poets and musicians andBoots, a trio of female poets which made their debut at Georgetown Literary Festival. She is also the founder of Numinous KL, a multidisciplinary performing arts event that has featured more than 90 new and established artists since 2012. Her first book of poems Rhymes for Mending Hearts, a collection of poems written in the past 10 years, was published in June 2013. She currently teaches at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus.
