This is a glaring example of atheistic secularisms bravado where how ones faith informs ones citizenship at the micro-personal level is bull-dozed or cow-dozed through as if life can go on without trust and faith... There is absolutely no respect for the horizon view of a religious believer in her diatribe. The Muslim gentlewoman who had the guts to raise the issue might have been just another piece of garbage in the horizon view of the interlocutor. She uses valid and stunning statistics, which we all need to pay attention to, to bulldoze an faith-community out of oblivion as believers. A gentle, non-threatening tone of voice would have done it. Can we expect that from America? It is a known fact that a single trouble maker can wreck havoc in a commmunity. Perhaps its time to listen to a less aggressive, more congenial delivery of the text that does not alienate the one who asked a brilliant question, a delivery that uses inclusive language and instead of falling prey to scape-goating which is a strategy of violence. Why cant we read the Koran and dialogue with our Muslim brothers and sisters about the issues that affect us due to the one trouble-maker who can wreck havoc in a community or the extended 15 percent. Is she saying that American citizens do a better-than-15 percent when it comes to aggression and destructiveness? It is impossible to miss the holier-than-thou attitude of the female verbal assaulter. She has used you-accusatory language instead of defining herself. She has presumed that the Muslim gentlewoman is here!! Presumption personified! Thanks for the statistics. I was on the look out for it.
