Sheikh Sulaymaan al-Alwaan said: Ahlu-Sunnah tread a middle path between the Khawārij and the Murji’ah. They do not denounce those commit major sins as Kaafirs, so long as they do not believe that their actions to be permissible [Halal]. Neither do they agree with the view of the Murji’ah, the sins does not undermine a persons faith at all, and that no one can be denounced as a Kaafir unless he is known to believe that his action is permitted. أهل السنة وسط بين الخوارج والمرجئة فلا يكفرون أهل الكبائر مالم يستحلوا ذلك ولا يقولون بقول المرجئة لا يضر مع الإيمان ذنب أو لا يكفر من أتى بمكفر حتى يستحل
