Shelburne Legion news By Lesa Peat Our Poppy Chairman, Garry Netzke, would like to thank our community for their generous support of our Poppy Campaign. The total donation from the community was $15,038.58. We will be improving our 1st Avenue entrance with handicap doors at the end of the month. All monies raised from the Poppy Campaign are used for Veterans and their families and or handicap improvements to the branch. January 9th is another wing night. Introducing for the first time at our branch The Camp Fire Poets. Monday during the day we have Euchre in the Museum Room and in the evening we have Bingo with a $700 jack pot. Micah is back in the kitchen on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, eat in or take out. Our Veterans still get together every Wednesday morning, anyone is welcome to join them for some great conversation and good times. Thursday evenings is our Euchre night all our welcome to joy in. Friday January 16th is another Jam Night with Brenda and Mark. Saturday January 17th the Branch will be putting in a team for Roy’s Chicks annual Snow Pitch tournament, players are still needed. Please contact the branch at 519 925-3800 and leave a message for Dale Smith if you are interested in playing. We can’t say this enough, but Thank You to our many volunteers for all of their hard work in keeping the Legion the best place in town to go. Happy New Year everyone.
