Parro, 87, a native and lifelong resident of Baldwin, who passed away peacefully at his home on Monday morning, June 23, 2014. Mr. Sheldon was a true cowboy in every sense of the word, from breaking and training horses to baling hay. He was also a welder and pipe fitter, working for Cabot for 28 years. Survivors include his wife, Gertie Mary Penn Parro; one son, Derek Gerard Parro; five grandchildren, Kica Talbot, Kynan Parro, Kered Mire, Klint Parro, and Dylan Hart; and seven great grandchildren, Kassidy Talbot, Madison Parro, Kati Parro, Bailey Parro, Lanni Mire, Gabe Parro, and Noah Luke. He was preceded in death by two sons, (infant) Sheldon J. Parro, Jr. and Craig Anthony Parro; his parents, Percy and Anita Andre Parro; and one sister, Gloria M. Brewster. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 128 Demanade Boulevard, Suite 102, Lafayette, LA 70508, (337) 233-1131
