Shelley and Tortalina the marginated tortoises came in to see us last week. They came to have a worming dose - which normally can be done easily by putting a tube into their mouths - but Shelley the larger one had other ideas- as you can see she hid her head so well it wasnt possible to get her head out- so she needed to be sedated- which is why she is getting an injection into her leg. They are sisters, bred in this country and thought to be about 16yrs old. Their favourite foods are dandelion leaves and flowers, plantain leaves, broccoli, cucumber, grass and clover.
