Shelters... I see postings for animal shelters and how many animals are neglected and.they do fantastic work. Its heart warming and all. But why is the focus on animals. Remember people you know mankind? Walk down any city street and you see the invisible community, the ones who you intentionally ignore. Their are some who see these people and go to McDonalds and uses spare singled or maybe 10 or 20 bucks and.gets burgers off the dollar menu. The amazing thing is these people dont have much to begin with so they give up a movie a coffee but they are inspired by love of their fellow human. Something as mundane as saying hello with a smile dont cost a penny but you just proved to somebody that they arent something to be ignored. There are slot of de-comissioned military bases abandoned housing and homeless people who do have skills in the trades and can teach their skill to others given a chance. We should demand the end of corporate welfare and use these government owned forgotten resources to give these people a chance at rebuilding urban blight and delapadated reservations as well as giving them purpose and a chance to better themselves. F.D.R. did it and corporations were encouraged to support it with funds of material. Homeless people are not lazy but at a disadvantage . How many are living paycheck to paycheck and some 1 or 2 paychecks from the edge. So all is am saying is prioritize the need and with good people back in homes then they could take a pet from a shelter and solve that problem. How American humane society for Americans
