Sheridan Agrees to Debate Calvert in 42nd Congressional District Race Tim Sheridan, the California Democratic Partys nominee in Californias 42nd Congressional District, has agreed to a proposal from the Lake Elsinore Citizens Committee to debate 20-year incumbent Congressman Ken Calvert in late September in Lake Elsinore. A representative from Mr. Calverts office reportedly said that he would ask the Congressman if he was willing to participate. “Im looking forward to debating Congressman Calvert, Sheridan said. The people of the 42nd District deserve to hear from the two candidates. This is especially crucial given the recent events in Murrieta and the importance of the immigration issue in our District, he added. Sheridan, who is seeking his first elective office, lives in southwest Riverside County. The 42nd Congressional District runs along the I-15 corridor roughly from Corona southeast to Temecula, and northeast along the I-215 and CA-79 corridors to Beaumont. It also includes the communities of Eastvale, Norco, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Murrieta, Menifee, Sun City, Winchester, Homeland and Nuevo.
