Sheriff Steve Freitas and his Administration are demonstrating - TopicsExpress

Sheriff Steve Freitas and his Administration are demonstrating strong support of the Deputies at the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office by participating in Project Blue Light. For the remainder of the week, the Sheriff’s Main Office will be lit from within with blue lights. Blue is the international color symbolizing peace. By letting our blue light shine we are honoring all the courageous peacekeepers who have died in the line of duty and who put their lives on the line everyday keeping our community safe. Many households throughout the county are changing their front porch bulbs to blue or displaying a blue light in the window in support of law enforcement. On Friday January 9, 2015, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is taking part in National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (LEAD). Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) and partnering organizations will unite in support of law enforcement officers nationwide. We are planning another public display for that important day too. We call on you, the citizens of Sonoma County, to take action in support of law enforcement. If you appreciate law enforcement take time on Friday, January 9th to show your support. Sonoma County citizens can show their support in a number of ways: • Participate in Project Blue Light. Proudly display your blue light in support of law enforcement. • See a Deputy? Thank a Deputy • Wear blue clothing in support of law enforcement • Send a card of support to your local law enforcement agency • Share a positive story about a positive law enforcement experience on social media • Ask children in your community write letters in support of law enforcement For more information on Project Blue Light, please watch this link: https://youtube/watch?v=uK-0UvwasUc Prepared by Sergeant Cecile Focha Media Relations / PIO
