Sheriff’s office attempting to locate owners of stolen property After making several arrests in connection with a recent string of burglaries, detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office are now trying to reunite owners with some of the recovered stolen property. The burglaries occurred mainly in the Bel-Air subdivision near Slidell over the course of the past two months. Detectives identified a suspect, Chase Sterling Hurst, who was selling some of the stolen property to local pawn shops. On October 7, detectives located and, after a brief foot pursuit, arrested Hurst in the Eagle Lake mobile home park. While executing a search warrant of the trailer where Hurst was staying, detectives recovered several items suspected to be stolen property from the burglaries, as well as the tool used to force entry into some of the residences. Narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also found in the trailer. Two females who resided in the trailer, Faith Landry Lopez and Brionne Comeaux, were found to be in possession of some of the stolen property and narcotics and were also arrested. Many recovered items (valued at approximately $10,000) have already been returned to the owners; however, detectives are asking anyone who lives in the Bel-Air subdivision and recognizes property in the attached photos to contact Sergeant Brian Beech at 985-726-7850.
