Sheryl Lonsbary has again put together a newsletter for the SOS - TopicsExpress

Sheryl Lonsbary has again put together a newsletter for the SOS Ottawa Chapter. It has been an active year for the Chapter, with buoy maintenance, continuation of the Display Boards in the Local Dive Shops, dry land survey practice, start up of the Locweld survey project, four guest speakers at our Chapter meetings, and recognition of three of our members by the Corporate Board as Volunteer of the Year. This newsletter only represents the highlights of the Chapters accomplishments for 2013. No written document can reflect the level of work, emotional commitment that members invest in making this Chapter successful. Your level of commitment is reflected in the fact that our Chapter is largest chapter in terms of members in Save Ontario Shipwrecks. I would like to personally thank Sheryl for publishing the newsletter. I would also like to thank all those who contributed to the newsletter by writing articles: Mike Lepage, John Ratcliffe, Christian Lloyd-Kohls, Erika Laanela, Moira Hollis, Trista Lauzon, Andy Bennis, and Nancy Binnie. Photographic contributions were made by Dave Belchamber, Louis Helbig and Andy Bennis. We would like to thank John Ratcliffe for continuing with the Locweld Survey project so that the Chapter can put into practice the skills learned at the NAS 1 course held in 2012. We also want to thank Barry Edgington for his continuing work on marketing/public awareness, Duncan Lane for maintaining the Chapter membership database and looking after the mail while the Chair was out of the country, and Andy Bennis for maintenance of the buoy program on behalf of all the diving enthusiasts visiting the Ottawa Chapter area. I look forward to working with all of you this year. Regards Murray Hollis SOS Chair, Ottawa Chapter
