The board in a statement said the movement launched by the cleric for the safety of these properties was in fact aimed at serving his vested interests. The board said that the clerics allegedly misused properties of Ghuframaab, Sibtainabad, Sajjadia Imambara, Imambara Zainul Abedin, and Waqf Rani Saltanat. Kalbe Jawad, who has proximity with the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, said that cases were pending against Waqf Board also. In fact there is now no-holds barred battle between board chairman Syed Wasim Rizvi, a close confident of Azam Khan, and Kalbe Jawad. Rizvi after being re-installed as chairman last moth had ordered probe into waqf properties under Jawad’s control in Lucknow. The cleric had also been removed from post of caretaker (Mutawalli) of three waqf properties in the city and investigation was ordered.
